This weekend we all traveled up to Els Monjos which is a quaint Catalan town near Vilafranca Del Penedes to enjoy a Calçotada (pronounced Calsotada, the ‘ç’ is known as a truncated ‘c’ in Catalan). The season of the Calçots is now upon us and I urge any visitors to Catalunya to try this fun and very tasty experience. A new initiative is being piloted in Barcelona next summer. The idea is to offer changing facilities for beach goers. This will hopefully bring to an end the distressing and sometimes frustrating feeling of having to wear wet swim wear until it drys off. Barcelona’s global appeal just keeps on growing, there is now a concerted effort to get Barcelona listed as destination on the World Version (Global Edition) of the very popular board game Monopoly. This version of the game consists of 22 cities, the aim is that the cities replace the name of the streets. Barcelona has truly come a long way since 1992 (the year it hosted the Olympics).
