Once you have arrived in Alella, your first stop will be at the local vineyard. Once a fourteenth-century farmhouse, this charming winery boasts organic wine made from local grapes. As your guide takes you through the cellar and beautiful vineyards, you will have a chance to admire the lovely Catalan landscape before you taste up to four stellar wines. Then it’s time for some modern art! Admire the public modernist art, amazing architecture, and luxury homes in the village while your guide unpacks their artistic and architectural significance. He or she will explain the social, political, and cultural issues that influenced and shaped the look and feel of the village, making the truth in the art come to life before your eyes. While you’re walking, you and your group will make a special stop at Alella’s local market. Open since 1934, this market thrives today with produce grown by vendors who have been there for generations. After you’ve enjoyed a tasting of some of the items available at the market, it’s time for lunch. With your guide and group, you will enter a village fixture for nearly thirty years: an authentic Catalan tavern.
