Wine Making Experience

For those who appreciate wines there is nothing which tastes quite like a top quality wine. But how do they turn the simplest of grapes into something so amazing? The answer is simple, very carefully. This experience gives you the opportunity to find out first hand how it is done and furthermore you get to actually do it yourself! Your experience starts as you arrive at a private family owned vineyard only 45 minutes outside the city. On arrival Marcel, a wine maker, oenologist and head of the family, who oversees all production of wine and cava, will receive you. After the welcome and introductions Marcel will take you on a journey that you will never forget. From the climate, type of soil used and all the elements which contribute to the quality of the wines, you will learn with your eyes, your ears and with your nose and finally through your hands as you will get to perform some of the varied tasks done in the vineyard depending on the time of year.

Marcel will also take you on a short tour of the winery, which ends in the actual heart of the winery, called “la bodega”. Here the wine sits in tanks and barrels during the fermentation period. There you will get to try your hand at evaluating the “coupage” of the wines directly from the barrels. This amazing experience ends with a wine tasting session in one of the private halls of the winery where Marcel will take you through the motions of a professional tasting of his wines. By the end of the experience you will have more appreciation for wine than ever before.
