Walking amongst Volcanoes
You will leave the bustling, cosmopolitan city of Barcelona behind you and head to one of the most magical and peaceful parts of Catalonia. This route is an enjoyable and interesting, because of its range of natural ecosystems and rich cultural heritage.
You will walk through a magnificent beech forest and follow the path up to a grassy crater. Once here you’re able to stop for a rest before continuing on to the youngest and biggest of the 40 volcanoes in the Nature Park.
After the walk you will sample some of the local cuisine, ‘volcanic cuisine’ in a restaurant located in the volcanic area.
You will move on to Besalú, a beautifully well-preserved medieval village declared a site of National Historic and Artistic Interest. You can then choose between a guided tour of the village with your guide, exploring on your own or simply kick back, relax, and enjoy a refreshing drink at one of the sunny terrace cafes, whilst observing the daily life of the locals.

The Garrotxa Nature Park is situated in the province of Girona in the northeast of Catalonia. This outstanding area is the most well conserved volcanic region on the Iberian Peninsula with the inactive, but not extinct volcanoes, which having left behind exceptional scenery unseen in any other part of the country. In 1982 the Catalan government declared the zone an Officially Protected Area.
The price includes private transport, accompanying guide, water, cold drinks, snacks, activities and a typical Catalan lunch in a local restaurant.
